The Zambezi - a name that evokes the mystery and grandeur of Africa and fueling our imagination. Zebras, giraffes, crocodiles and hippos roam the banks and depths of the river, their eyes on  constant vigil. The first sighting of massive elephants as they lumber down to the shore— solitary or in a group — with eyes filled with sorrow that instill compassion and a lasting memory.

Islands and estuaries break up the Zambezi along its 2700 kilometer passage, venturing through Zambia, Angola, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Mozambique, before taking shape in a great delta that ends in the Indian Ocean. Along the river’s path the spirit Nyami Nyami - the River God - brings people water to grow crops and fish to eat, and the Zambezi takes on a new name: the River of Life.

It is the beauty and majesty that strikes the visitor when the Great River comes into view. The mist from Victoria Falls rises hundreds of feet in the air and the eternal rainbow on the horizon provides the first hint of the river’s presence and the mighty falls that creates a natural boundary between Zambia and Zimbabwe:  Mosi-oa-Tunya or the Smoke that Thunders. Spanning 1,708 meters (5,604 feet) in width and plunging 108 meters (354 feet) in height, Victoria Falls is the greatest sheet of falling water in the world.  A small corner of the falls is awe-inspiring but pales against the complete panorama - the raging waters meeting the divide and plummeting to the rocks below creating the great gorges that have multiplied over the millennia. A view, in the words of the explorer Doctor Livingstone, that no one could imagine. . .

It is this adventure that is the reward for having achieved the coveted President’s Circle.  Staying at the luxurious Royal Livingstone Hotel - named after the famed European explorer, Dr. David Livingstone, who first discovered the Falls in 1855 - you will reside in complete luxury on the banks of the Zambezi. The mist from the Falls that border the property will be your backdrop, while zebras, giraffes, monkeys and gazelles roam freely through the grounds creating an exotic African paradise.  President’s Circle 2024 will be a rare dream come to life.
