PLANNING

  • Travelers are advised to be up to date on routine vaccinations. Several vaccinations include measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), influenza, cholera, varicella (chickenpox), tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (DTaP), typhoid, hepatitis A and B. Please be sure to check health regulation sites such as the CDC or WHO for the latest travel health recommendations and requirements before your trip.

    Yellow Fever

Country requirement at entry: proof of vaccination against yellow fever is required for travellers aged 1 or over arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission, and for travellers having transited for more than 12 hours through an airport of a country with risk of yellow fever transmission.

    Malaria - IMPORTANT

While there is no malaria vaccine, antimalarial medication (such as atovaquone-proguanil, doxycycline, or mefloquine) is recommended. You should also take preventive measures like using insect repellent, wearing long sleeves, and sleeping under mosquito nets.

  • There are no strict clothing restrictions in Zambia, however, it’s essential to be aware of and respectful of the local culture and customs. Here are some considerations regarding clothing in Zambia:

    • Neutral Clothing (khaki, beige, olive): Neutral colors help blend into the environment and avoid attracting animals or insects.

    • Consideration for Locals: While there may not be strict rules, it’s always a good practice to be considerate of the local culture.

    • Urban Areas and Resorts: In urban areas and resort areas, casual clothing is generally acceptable. You’ll find that a wide range of clothing styles is tolerated in popular tourist destinations.

Remember that the dress code can vary depending on the specific location and context. It’s advisable to have a mix of clothing, including modest and casual wear options.
