PLANNING

  • There are no essential vaccinations required for entry into Bali. However, travelers are advised to be up-to-date on routine vaccinations such as measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (DTaP), varicella (chickenpox), polio, and influenza.

  • There are no strict clothing restrictions in Bali, however, it’s essential to be aware of and respectful of the local culture and customs. Here are some considerations regarding clothing in Bali:

Modesty in Temples: When visiting temples or religious sites, both men and women are expected to dress modestly. This typically means wearing clothing that covers the shoulders and knees. Sarongs and sashes are often provided or available for rent at temple entrances.

Consideration for Locals: While there may not be strict rules, it’s always a good practice to be considerate of the local culture.

Urban Areas and Resorts: In urban areas and resort areas, casual clothing is generally acceptable. You’ll find that a wide range of clothing styles is tolerated in popular tourist destinations.

Remember that the dress code can vary depending on the specific location and context. It’s advisable to have a mix of clothing, including modest options for temple visits or more traditional areas and casual wear for beach and resort areas.

  • Light and breathable clothing

Comfortable footwear (sandals/flipflops for beach outing, walking shoes or sneakers for exploring)

Sun protection (sunscreen with high SPF, hat, sunglasses)

Modest clothing for temples (a sarong (can double as a beach cover-up) and a sash for temple visits - clothing covering shoulders and knees)

Daypack (a small daypack for excursions)

Adapter and Voltage Converter - Type C and F electrical outlet
